Enjoy the Ride – Fall 2014

Kikaha Issue 03, now on all Island Air Flights.

With temporal weather year-round in Hawai‘i, it can be difficult to sense when an old season has passed and a new one has begun. During fall months, nights may get a bit chillier, the days slightly shorter, but the sun shines just as warmly, and the tradewinds blow just as coolly as they do all year long. Instead, the dawn of a new season is often guided by the sea, when large swells hit the north shores of the islands and bring with them the world-famous waves that thousands look forward to every year. It is only then, with the arrival of the first swell, that we know the new season has truly arrived. From the people who photograph the ocean’s depths to the crafters who enable anyone to enjoy it, this issue of Kīkaha celebrates the sea and those who are inspired by it.
